On 30 October, State administration of market regulation (SAMR) and General administration of customs (GAC) jointly published “Notice on Unified management of Defective product recalls”. The notice defined clearly the coordination and integrated management mechanism of defective product recalls work between the two administrations.
- GAC takes responsibilities of technical disposal, destroy and return of defective imported goods or goods with potential safety hazards, and keep SAMR posted;
- SAMR uniformly organizes defective product recalls and informs GAC the defective imported goods in domestic market;
- SAMR shall be in charge of enterprises’ application for defective product record and report instead of GAC
